The current hydrogen energy track is crowded with car companies eager to run. Toyota, Hyundai, Great Wall and other companies have already taken the lead and launched a layout in the field of hydrogen energy. At this year's Beijing Winter Olympics, 200 hydrogen buses were equipped, achieving a battery life of 890000 kilometers and a carbon emission reduction of 1125 tons, which has attracted widespread attention from the society.

In fact, Great Wall Motor started relevant research and layout in the field of hydrogen energy as early as 2016. In 2018, Great Wall Motor built the first hydrogen energy technology center in China. In the follow-up, it has also successively set up high-tech enterprises focusing on the research and development of fuel cell vehicle power systems, hydrogen energy and fuel cell technologies and products, such as upper combustion power and underpowered energy.
Not only that, in terms of industrial chain layout, Great Wall Motor is also a domestic vehicle enterprise that has realized the core technology layout of the key links of the whole industrial chain. In terms of technological breakthroughs, the largest international R & D team of more than 430 people in China has been established. The intellectual property rights of the six core technologies and products are completely independent, and many technologies have broken through the industry pain point of "stuck neck.
Up to now, Great Wall Motors has invested a total of 2 billion yuan in research and development, and will continue to invest more than 3 billion yuan in research and development in the future to reach a production capacity of 10,000 units. It is known as "the car company with the strongest hydrogen energy research strength".
On October 24, the groundbreaking ceremony of Toyota Fuel Cell R & D and Production Project (Phase I) was held in Beijing Economic Development Zone. The project is planned to be completed and put into production next year. It will build a hydrogen fuel cell system production line, testing line and R & D center to carry out the R & D and production of fuel cell system products. The completion of the project will drive the healthy and rapid development of the hydrogen energy industry, effectively promote the promotion of fuel cell vehicles, and accelerate the realization of "hydrogen energy society" and "environmental protection mobile society".
On October 25, Hyundai Motor Hydrogen Fuel Cell System (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. (HTWO Guangzhou) signed two consecutive projects. One is to sign a contract with Hengyun Group and Guangzhou Development Zone Trading Group to set up a hydrogen energy joint venture. The other is to sign a contract with Hengyun Group and Wen Yuan Zhixing to build the world's first unmanned hydrogen vehicle demonstration zone in Guangzhou Development Zone.
The Changan dark blue SL03 hydrogen electric version of Changan Automobile is China's first mass-produced hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, which has been officially listed.
In addition, auto manufacturers such as GAC Group and Haima Automobile have completed different levels of layout in the field of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
However, the hydrogen energy market is also facing many problems. Zhang Xiang, a visiting professor at the Huanghai Institute of Science and Technology, pointed out: "Hydrogen energy is facing problems of immature technology, high cost and high dependence on state subsidies in its development. In addition to the five major fuel cell demonstration city groups, the rest of China's hydrogen infrastructure is weak. At present, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are not entering the market. On the one hand, it reflects that the technology is not yet mature. On the other hand, there is still a gap between China's fuel cell vehicles and international advanced technologies in terms of technology. Domestic fuel cells have relatively large engines and capacity. The density is relatively low."
It is worth noting that despite the bumpy road ahead, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles have finally taken a substantial step.
