"As a clean, efficient and sustainable new energy, hydrogen energy is of great significance to the sustainable development of the transportation system. Under the double carbon commitment, clean energy is the top priority. For every 1kg of hydrogen used to replace gasoline and diesel, hydrogen fuel cell vehicles can reduce carbon dioxide by 10-15kg. The hydrogenation time is much shorter than the charging time of electric vehicles. The single driving range is longer than that of electric vehicles. At the same time, it can meet the requirements of harsh conditions such as heavy load and low temperature environment start-up, and has more advantages in medium and long-distance transportation." Independent auto analyst Li Xuzhi told reporters.

In addition to the car companies have seen the first opportunity to layout, local governments have also begun to pay attention to the development of hydrogen energy. According to relevant statistics, except for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Tibet, the other 30 provincial administrative regions across the country have included hydrogen energy in the "14th Five-Year Plan" development plan.

This year, good news about hydrogen energy has followed. Driven by national and local policies and the market, hydrogen energy has become a hot word in the energy and low carbon fields. Zhang Xiang told a reporter from China Times: "The introduction of national policies (hydrogen energy and vehicle subsidies, purchase tax reduction and exemption, corporate talent attraction, etc.) has promoted the development of the new energy vehicle industry chain based on hydrogen energy."

The landmark policy was introduced in March this year, and the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration jointly issued the "Medium and Long-term Plan for the Development of the Hydrogen Energy Industry (2021-2035)". According to the plan, it is estimated that by 2025, the hydrogen production capacity of renewable energy will reach 10-200000 tons/year, 300 hydrogen refueling stations will be built, the number of hydrogen energy vehicles will be about 50000, and a number of hydrogen refueling stations will be built, and the construction target of 1000 hydrogen refueling stations will be reached by 2030.

On August 29, the Ministry of industry and information technology and other five departments jointly issued the action plan for accelerating the green and low-carbon innovation and development of power equipment. Hydrogen energy has become the key direction of green and low-carbon development and application in the ten major fields of power equipment, and the importance of hydrogen energy as decarbonization and energy is constantly strengthened at the national level.

In 2021, the five national ministries and commissions issued the "Notice on Starting the Demonstration and Application of Fuel Cell Vehicles" twice, initially forming five major fuel cell vehicle policy support demonstration urban agglomerations in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Shanghai, Guangdong, Hebei, and Henan. In fact, these developments are the epitome of the achievements made since the first anniversary of the launch of China's fuel cell vehicle demonstration urban agglomeration. At the same time, the upstream and downstream industrial chain in the demonstration city group is gradually improved.

It can be seen that the development of hydrogen fuel cells is the general trend. Tian Li, an automotive industry analyst, believes: "In the future, there will be a situation where lithium batteries and hydrogen fuel cells coexist on the new energy vehicle track." According to industry forecasts, in the next ten years, the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle market will have a hundredfold growth space. When hydrogen energy accounts for 15% of China's terminal energy system, hydrogen energy and electricity will complement each other and become the main consumer of China's terminal energy system, leading to the formation of 10 trillion-class emerging industries.
